Called by Joy!
Our Vocation

In our community we wear a common habit and do not wear secular clothes at any time. We have a structured life of prayer which includes daily Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, praying the rosary in common and the full Divine Office. We have special days of prayer and a full week long retreat once a year in which a retreat Master comes to the Monastery to give us spiritual direction and conferences.

We have a dog, a cat, a bird and some fish...we have a huge garden in which we grow most of our own vegetables and fruit for freezing and canning. In the summer we often pray Daytime and Evening prayer outside in the beauty of the day.

Each Sister is encouraged to develop their special talents and gifts. We have an extensive library of books, tapes and videos. We do ceramics, stained glass and creative stitchery. Our latest monastic work projects include publishing books and creating a weekly one hour radio program for the Diocese. Every project we undertake is either suppported completely by the whole community or not done. Serving God in a spirit of Community is always at the essence of everything we do.

In short, Our life is one of work and prayer and believe it or not lots of fun. If you have a good sense of humor, a full enjoyment of life and a deep yearning to draw close to God in prayer and community, chances are you would be happy in this vocation and we would love to welcome you into our home.
